I had tiffin today with a friend at
Fotografiska, the photography museum (a keen house for lunch, past times the way!). If y'all are regular reader here, too then y'all know that this is ane of my favourite museums too that I'm a sucker for dark & white photography, specially from the 50's too 60's. So y'all tin give the sack empathize my excitement that they convey but unveiled their principal exhibition for the coming season, a lensman who specializes inward but this medium:
Christer Strömholm.
Christer passed away 10 years agone too this exhibition, "CHR", is a retrospective of his work. 150 dark too white photographs from his travels inward the 50's too 60's... Paris, Kingdom of Spain too Nippon alongside other places. I specially enjoyed his loving portraits of his friends from Paris. These friends were the transsexuals that lived too worked inward the Pigalle neighbourhood (around Place Blanche) that Christer came to know when he lived in that location during this fourth dimension period. The pictures are beautiful (especially how the museum has lit them) too somewhat deplorable when y'all intend of how difficult their lives must convey been. The exhibition runs until Nov 25th. There are exclusively a pair of to a greater extent than weeks left of the
August Strindberg exhibition. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the playwright's death, this exhibition ends on September 9th. There are roughly keen photographs of Stockholm inward the belatedly 1800's included inward the exhibition!
